The thing about "optimisation" is that you can always bring it up as a reason why the game doesn't run at X framerate. If it was a stable 30 FPS, you could say it's not optimised enough because it could run at 40. About the DS ones: Phantom Hourglass is a dumbed down Wind Waker, while Spirit Tracks is good original fun with some amazing dungeons, bosses and lovable story/characters. They aren't bad games, but people dislike them because of the overworlds (which are bad, but I don't care too much about this personally).
